Founded by Melé skincare: the Melatology Alliance
(mel-uh-tol-oh-gee) the study of melanin to advance the scientific understanding and care of Black and Brown skin.
Our nation is more diverse than ever, but every day we’re reminded of how the unique needs of Black and Brown consumers are underserved by the beauty and skincare industries.
Melatology Alliance was formed to advance equity in the treatment and service of melanin-rich skin through science-based resources and education for consumers and skincare professionals.

The Melatology Alliance: Driving Change
Educate. Activate. Legislate.
Education is the first step to improving the care and treatment of melanin-rich skin. That’s why we’re providing free accredited courses for estheticians.
Partnerships are vital to initiate and sustain change within our communities. Melatology Alliance brings together skincare experts, organizations, and associations to raise awareness and rally support.
Systemic change comes when we permanently raise the bar through regulatory or legislative actions. Our goal is to see the full inclusion of science-based educational resources about skin of color.
